Lake Parishan is one of the most beautiful lakes in Iran and the Middle East. The lake is at risk due to the burning of a large part of its forests. During these fires thousands of turtle and migratory birds have been destroyed. Most of the lake is also dry due to recent droughts and excessive water harvesting.
