- Morphology The maximum length is 188 cm. The tail is 27 cm. The front forehead scales are divided to several small scales, with three rows of alternate scales between forehead scales and rostral scales.
- Ethology When threatened this species is known to inflate and thrash its body, hiss and make rapid strikes. The diadem snake is typically found in arid and semi-arid areas, including stony and sandy desert.
