- Morphology Body length:66 cm. The lesser spotted eagle has dark brown plumage, similar to greater spotted eagle but slightly smaller, there is also a white patch at the base of the primaries on the upperwings, that can be seen during flight,with a small pale yellow patch on uppertail coverts.
- Ethology While gliding, its wings are held bowed, with the wrists held above the body and the wingtips pointed downward. Its square-shaped tail base is a good field mark.
