  • Morphology body length: 26 cm.It is relatively larger than the other two kingfishers and is easily identified by its bright color and large red bill, chocolate brown head and belly, white breast and throat, bright blue back and tail. The flight of the White-throated Kingfisher is rapid and direct, large white patches are visible on the blue and black wings.
  • Ethology It is relatively noisy. It perches conspicuously on wires, in a “sit-and-wait” style to hunt. It is a common species of a variety of habitats, streams farms, gardens, open countries in the plains, jungles, fresh water bodies and shores.
