- Morphology Body length:18 cm. It can be easily recognized from other wagtails by its black and white plumage. The grey back and black nape (in males) or black crown (in females), face and ear coverts are white which contrast strongly with the black throat and chest. It has long tail with white side feathers and black legs.
- Ethology It can walk on ground and moves its tail up and down.
