  • Morphology Body length: 60 cm. It is pale sandy-buff with black markings on the wings with a greyish underparts andlong plumes of feathers drooping over the neck, the uppermost feathers being black while the lower ones are white with black tips.
  • Ethology The bird's speckled appearance is a perfect camouflage in its natural habitat, when it humps. Its flight is slow and heavy. After mating, both sexes remain solitary for the remainder of the breeding season. Rather than that they feed in small groups.
